The Perth Jazz Society was founded with an aim to support musicians, enhance the artform and present performances.

The PJS presents a diverse program of modern jazz music. Our performances are mostly in concert format, aiming to promote a listening culture at all of our gigs.

As well as presenting established musicians, the PJS has a long history of supporting young and upcoming musicians,
The Perth Jazz Society was founded almost 40 years ago in the hope of providing both performance opportunities for jazz musicians, and establishing a platform to support listening culture of music in a live performance setting.

The PJS aims to support jazz artists from polished professionals, to young, emerging artists and also visiting or touring national and international jazz musicians.

Weekly and monthly gigs at local venues have helped establish the PJS as an important institution within the community. As a not-for-profit organisation, the work of the PJS has been recently recognised by the Chamber of Arts and Culture WA, and has had continual support from the Department of Culture and the Arts, APRA/AMCOS, City of Perth, as well as sponsoring local music establishments such as WAM and RTRFM 92.1

In the future, the PJS aims to expand its audiences, give further support to the local music community and support the diversity of modern jazz music.
